The new self-service menu on Safaricom *100#

The Safaricom *100# menu has been changed a few times over the years. In this post I take a look at the options the telco added to the 100 menu in 2019.

Here’s how the *100# menu on Safaricom looks like.

If you have a Safaricom prepaid line and dial the *100# USSD code, the menu you’ll get will look like the one above.

Now, let’s take a look at what Safaricom subscribers will find under each option on the menu.

Let’s see what you can do on your own line when you dial *100#.

Set Safaricom Jitambulishe: your voice as your password

  • Dial *100#
  • Select option 0: Jitambulishe
    Reply with:
  • 1: Enroll
  • 2: Tell a friend
  • 3: Check Referral Status
  • 4: Upgrade Jitambulishe

Use this option to add an extra layer of security to your Safaricom line. All you need is follow the instructions above. You will then find the instructions on what to do next. For example if this is the first time you want to activate Jitambulishe on your line, dial the number 456 and press the Call button.

Help the mobile phone service provider combat fraud within its own network by adding another unique identifier to your line: your voice.
