How to buy Airtel Kenya international bundles: 30 days, 14 days, 7 days, 24 hours + check balance (minutes to call India, China, Canada & USA)

Want to learn how to buy Airtel Kenya international bundles? To purchase minutes to call phone numbers in India, China, Canada and USA? Read on.

In this post I am going to show you the different international bundles you can get on any prepaid Airtel line – 30 days, 14 days, 7 days and 24 hour bundles.

I’m also going to show you how to check your balance.

How to buy international bundles on your Airtel Kenya line

30 day bundles

At the time of writing this post, there’s only one bundle that is valid for 30 days:

  • 300 minutes bundle at Kenya Shillings 500

To purchase the 30 day bundle:

To access the international bundles menu via the 100 shortcode, follow the steps below:

  • Dial *100#
  • Select option 4. Buy Bundles & Services
  • Select option 8. International
  • Then proceed by selecting the bundle you want to purchase e.g. 1 for the 300 min, 30 days @500/- bundle
  • Press 1 to confirm your purchase

14 day bundles

There is one 14-day bundle you can purchase at this time:

  • 50 minutes bundle at Kenya Shillings 100

To purchase the 14 day bundle:

  • Dial *544#
  • Select option 9) International
  • Select option 2) 50 min, 14 days @100/-
  • To confirm your purchase, enter the number 1 to Accept

7 day bundles

There is only one 7-day bundle in the International minutes menu at the moment:

 0- Browse products by brand: Tecno, Infinix, Samsung, Huawei, Annov, HP, Garnier, Apple, Android, Ramtons, LG, Oppo, Redmi / Xiaomi, Nokia, X-tigi, iTel, Zuku, DStv, Startimes, GOtv, ZTE, Cubot, Gionee, Realme, Lenovo, Motorola, Oukitel, Oneplus, Bruhm, Phillips, Umidigi, Hisense, GLD, Skyworth, Amazon, Mika, Vivo, Oraimo, Toshiba, Acer, Asus, Syinix, Sayona, Von Hotpoint, Ampex, Sony, Toyota & Honda on Jumia Kenya. 

  • 20 minutes bundle at Kenya Shillings 50

To purchase the 7 day bundle:

  • Dial *544#
  • Select option 9) International
  • Select option 2) 20 min, 7 days @50/-
  • To confirm your purchase, enter the number 1 to Accept

24 hour bundles

These are bundles that are valid for just 24 hours. At the time of writing this post, there are 3 different bundles to choose from:

  • 20 minutes bundle at Kenya Shillings 40
  • 10 minutes bundle at Kenya Shillings 25
  • 5 minutes bundle at Kenya Shillings 15

To purchase a 24-hour bundle:

  • Dial *544#
  • Select option 9) International
  • To buy the KSh 40 bundle for example, select option 4) 20 min, 24hrs @40/-
  • To confirm your purchase, enter the number 1 to Accept

How to check balance after buying an international bundle on Airtel

To check your international bundle minutes balance, follow the steps below:

  • Dial *544#
  • Select option 9) International
  • Enter the letter n to view more items on the menu
  • Select option 7) Check balance
  • Wait for SMS with your bundle details

Terms and conditions

If you want to purchase and use any of the bundles listed above, Airtel Kenya has a few conditions you should know about.

For example, you can’t use the minutes you purchase to call mobile phones in United Kingdom – only landlines.

And then they are specific about the countries for which the bundles are applicable. If you call a country not listed in the menu, you’ll be charged directly from the airtime balance in your prepaid line.

Here’s what they say:

‘Offer applicable for calls to India, USA, China, Canada and UK landlines. Bundles are not autorenewable.‘

 1- Browse latest clothes, shoes, baby fashion, kid’s fashion, women’s fashion & men’s fashion, electronics, feature phones, smartphones, laptops, tablets, power banks, memory cards, smart watches, on Jumia. 

Telkom Kenya also has a similar condition. When calling someone in the UK, the Telkom international bundle applies only to UK fixed lines.
