I am going to show you how to use the USSD shortcode above (or *100#) to quickly gift different bundles to friends and family members.
What Airtel Kenya data bundles can you give as a gift?

- Select option 5) Gift a Bundle
At the time of writing this post, the following bundles can be purchased for another number via the Airtel Gift a Bundle option:
- Tubonge Plus and Voice bundles (24 hours, 7 days or 30 days bundle)
- UnlimiNET bundles (daily, weekly and monthly)
- Amazing Data Bundles (daily bundles, 7 day bundles, 30 day bundles and 90 day bundles)
- UnlimiNET Modem bundles (daily, weekly and monthly bundles)
- SMS Bundles (Tutext, daily, weekly and monthly bundles)
Before you Gift a Bundle to another Airtel Kenya subscriber
Make sure:
- you know the price of the bundle you want to purchase and give to them as a gift.
- you have enough airtime on your line to be able to buy the bundle. If your balance is insufficient, learn how to load airtime on your Airtel Kenya line.
- you know the recipient’s phone number. If in doubt, ask them to send you a text message with their number.
- you’ve pondered the question whether they are better of receiving airtime from you than getting a bundle as a gift. Learn how to share your airtime here.
How to gift bundles to another Airtel Kenya number
To buy another Airtel phone number a bundle as a gift, follow the steps below:
0- Browse products by brand: Tecno, Infinix, Samsung, Huawei, Annov, HP, Garnier, Apple, Android, Ramtons, LG, Oppo, Redmi / Xiaomi, Nokia, X-tigi, iTel, Zuku, DStv, Startimes, GOtv, ZTE, Cubot, Gionee, Realme, Lenovo, Motorola, Oukitel, Oneplus, Bruhm, Phillips, Umidigi, Hisense, GLD, Skyworth, Amazon, Mika, Vivo, Oraimo, Toshiba, Acer, Asus, Syinix, Sayona, Von Hotpoint, Ampex, Sony, Toyota & Honda on Jumia Kenya.
To gift Airtel Tubonge bundles
- Dial *544#
- Select option 5) Gift a Bundle
- Select option 1. Tubonge
- Enter the recipient’s phone number in the following format 0733******
- Select the bundle to give as a gift. There are 24 hour, 7 day and 30 day bundles to choose from. Some Tubonge bundles can be used to call Airtel and other networks. Some can be used to browse the internet. It is up to you to choose which bundle you want to give the subscriber you have in mind.
- To purchase the ‘KSh 50 for 7 Days‘ bundle for example, reply with 2.
‘Confirm purchase of Tubonge Weekly for 0733123456 with 100 Minutes Airtel to Airtel calls valid for 7 days‘ - Select 1. Buy Once or 2. Buy Autorenew (if you select the autorenew option, the person getting the gift will get the same bundle from you every 7 days – and Airtel will deduct KSh 50 from your airtime balance every 7 days. If it is a one time gift, use the Buy Once option. That way they get one gift and you get one bill. Bill and Gift, Airtel sure does know how to match their subscribers – and make money in the process.)
To gift Airtel UnlimiNET bundles
- Dial *544#
- Select option 5) Gift a Bundle
- Select option 2. UnlimiNET
- Enter the recipient’s phone number in the following format 0733******
Decide if you want to buy them a weekly, daily or monthly UnlimiNET bundle
Let’s say you want to buy them a weekly bundle, what do you do? - Select option 2. Weekly UnlimiNET (7 Days)
- If you want to buy them the 1.5 GB bundle, select option 3. 1.5GB + 100 Minutes + 1000 SMS bundle at Kenya Shillings 300 valid for 7 days.
- Reply with 1 to Buy Once or 2 for Autorenew
Just follow the steps above to buy someone a daily or weekly UnlimiNET bundle. Once they receive the gift they can enjoy texting, calling and browsing the web.
To gift Airtel Amazing Data bundles
- Dial *544#
- Select option 5) Gift a Bundle
- Select option 3. Amazing Data Bundles
- Enter the recipient’s phone number in the following format 0733******
- Reply with 1 to buy them a daily bundle. Or 2 for a 7 day bundle. Or 3 for a 30 day bundle. Or 4 for a 90 day bundle.
Let’s say you want to buy them the monthly 10 GB bundle at KSh 1000, what do you do? - Select option 3. 30 Day Bundles
- Select option 3. 10 GB + 5GB YouTube @Sh 1000
- Confirm you want to purchase the 10 GB bundle for the recipient by replying with 1 (to Buy Once) or 2 for Autorenew.
The bundles under the Amazing Data Bundles menu are purely for browsing. They don’t have a voice or SMS component like some of the other bundles listed in this post (Tubonge, UnlimiNet etc.).
However, you’ll find that these bundles let subscribers message their buddies on WhatsApp for free. And some of these bundles, like the one used in the example above, come with free data to watch videos on YouTube.
To gift Airtel UnlimiNET Modem bundles
- Dial *544#
- Select option 5) Gift a Bundle
- Select option 4. UnlimiNET Modem
- Enter the recipient’s phone number in the following format 0733******
Select what bundle you want to buy them: Modem Daily, Modem Weekly or Modem Monthly at KSh 2999.
Say, you want to buy them the 5 GB bundle valid for 7 days, as a gift, follow the steps below. - Select option 2. Modem Weekly
- Select option 2. 5GB, 7 Days @699
- Then confirm purchase of the bundle for the recipient by replying with 1 (to Buy Once) or 2 (for Buy Autorenew).
To gift Airtel SMS bundles
- Dial *544#
- Select option 5) Gift a Bundle
- Select option 5. SMS Bundles
- Enter the recipient’s phone number in the following format 0733******
Select a bundle to buy for the other number: Airtel Tutext bundle, Daily, Weekly or Monthly bundle.
To buy them the 1500 SMS at KSh 75 monthly bundle for example, do the following - Select option 4. Monthly bundle
- Reply with 1 to Buy Once or 2 for Autorenew.
These bundles are great for the guys and girls who like to chat via text but don’t use messaging apps, like WhatsApp, a lot.
Conclusion
You can make someone’s day by buying them any of the bundles listed in the Gift a Bundle menu.
Some of the bundles cost as little as Kenya Shillings 5 or 10.

And there are great data deals as well, some going for as low as KSh 300 per month (for example the 1.5 GB monthly internet bundle) or 99 Shillings (for the 2 GB + free WhatsApp daily data bundle).
1- Browse latest clothes, shoes, baby fashion, kid’s fashion, women’s fashion & men’s fashion, electronics, feature phones, smartphones, laptops, tablets, power banks, memory cards, smart watches, on Jumia.
Top up your Airtel line, get someone’s number from your contact list, use the steps above to deliver them a gift, and then just get on with your day.
Note also that you can access the Gift a Bundle menu using *100#. To do so, dial *100# -> Reply with 4. for Buy Bundles & Services -> Reply with 5. Gift a Bundle -> then just follow the steps above.
